
Into the Office Program
The into the office program offers beginner computer skills workshops, corporate work attire, resume workshops, and interview prep. This program is for women looking to transition out of physical labor intensive positions (Factory, food service, healthcare workers) by acquiring necessary skills to gain entry level office work, such as customer service and data entry positions. The program offers in-person, virtual, and group workshops. These services are through volunteer and donated resources and availability is limited.
Sis What’s the Biz
Through our Sis What’s the Biz program, we are bringing together Women in business and those aspiring to be in business. We provide business development and coaching. We offer free and paid services. Our services include business plan development, networking events, basic website and ecommerce set-up, coaching, craft and artisan business start-up workshops, micro grants and guided resource outlets. We are Launching the BWIS Business Boutique to offer affordable retail space and opportunities for small Black Women and minority owned businesses.
Journals for Black Kids
The Journals for Black Kids is a free journal distribution program for children and teens ages 7-17. This program is a per request initiative and has partnership opportunities with schools, churches, libraries and more. Journaling promotes literacy, wellness through self expression and awareness and more. This programs seeks to help children dealing with surfaced and hidden trauma by giving an outlet and agency to youth.
Lavish Lunch and Love Conference
The Lavish Lunch and Love Conference is a Semi-annual conference exclusive for Women. Through the conference, celebration and sisterhood we bring women together in the spirit of Love, Light, Growth and Change. The conference is a four hour event filled with education, entertainment, food, fun and purpose! Our mission is to gather our collectives voices and development strategic and focused advocacy around the needs and concerns of Women of color. Through this advocacy we work to improve conditions for Women, their families and communities.
Parent Engagement Program
The Parent Engagement Program (PEP) is a nationally recognized parent engagement model developed by Logan Square Neighborhood Association (LSNA) in Chicago. In the PMP model, parents work in classrooms, develop their own leadership, and become more aware of conditions in the school. Parents and schools build mutual trust. Parents participate in
leadership trainings, set personal goals , and workforce development.
Possible Picasso Art Program
Possible Picasso is a creative art-based initiative to inspire identity exploration, confidence, and inspiration to dream in color!
